Advanced systems for sustainable maritime mobility

The TME project (Automated Process for Implementing Technologies for Efficient Maritime Mobility) focuses on developing and testing new automation technologies for the conversion of existing boats, with the aim of improving the environmental impact of the maritime sector. The project integrates innovative solutions to reduce hydrodynamic drag and enhance propulsion efficiency, contributing to more sustainable and efficient mobility.

The Project Involves the Development of:

  • FOIL appendages for drag reduction: Installation of advanced hydrodynamic devices designed to reduce water resistance and increase vessel energy efficiency.

  • Dual-fuel/electric hybrid propulsion system: Development of an innovative propulsion system combining traditional fuels with electric power to reduce harmful emissions and enhance performance.

  • Advanced automation technologies: Design of an automated process for integrating and managing new systems, optimizing energy consumption and reducing downtime.

Expected Results and Impacts:

The project aims to:

  • Lower the environmental impact of vessels by significantly reducing emissions and fuel consumption.

  • Improve energy efficiency through the use of FOIL appendages and hybrid propulsion systems.

  • Foster innovation in the maritime sector with solutions applicable to both new builds and retrofitting of existing boats.

  • Support the ecological transition of the maritime industry in line with international environmental standards.

Partnerships and Collaborations:

The project brings together universities, research centers, and industrial companies, with a specific focus on technological innovation for sustainable marine mobility.

Technological Innovation:

TME stands out for:
