… You don’t have to choose between career and private life, between professional and personal growth… In 2006 I became mother of my first child. Working in opus has always guaranteed the opportunity to play my role as mother, without neglecting the professional development that has brought me, today, to be Admin Manager

RISING TO THE CHALLENGE

I began to work in opus in the year 2000, shortly after receiving my accounting diploma. I had already had some work experience, but I felt the need to start a stimulating professional career in the context of a company that would allow me to grow.
Through the grapevine I heard about a job opportunity in opus; they were looking for someone in administration and accounting, so I decided to take the plunge and present myself at interview.
All went well, I got the job and I signed my first contract with opus, initially part-time and fixed-term, but after two months it became full-time and permanent.

GROWING WITH THE COMPANY

In 2000 the work force was made up of the four partners and four employees, three of whom were in technical roles.
I looked after admin activities relating to accounting, customer management and purchasing.

Over the course of my entire professional pathway I have always been supported and trained, with the chance to collaborate with competent professionals and to receive regular updating in the fields of accounting, administration, the use of management software and safety at work, for which I am the company representative.
In 2009 the company began to grow exponentially, both in terms of finance and staff, leading to, in 2012, the opening of the operation in Florence, in addition to what had at the outset had been the one site in Follonica.
As the volume of work and the contracts grew, the admin office began to require new professional profiles, and the need to divide the responsibilities. So the office increased in size and a purchasing department was created.
The company continued to grow and I with it. Opus automazione now has almost 80 staff and, as of 2020, has added the Naples operation to those in Tuscany, in Follonica and Florence.
I too have developed, professionally and personally. In carrying out my role as admin manager, I have invest dedication and enthusiasm in my work, and I approach the young people who work with my office, with pride and confidence, that same confidence that opus has shown me in more than 20 years.

Before the contract expired, I was asked to deepen my involvement in the maintenance department of the environment sector. I was at a crossroads in my life: continuing to work at opus automazione or resume my studies …

In 2009, Opus had 18 employees, 3 of which were in the environmental sector. The decision I finally took was based on the friendships made, the recognition achieved and, equally as important, the opportunities for professional growth.

GROWING WITH THE COMPANY
Since 2009 the company has seen economic growth as well as an increase in its work force – currently more than 60 employees. In 2017, as a result of these developments, a coordinator with technical skills was required for the maintenance team. Due to my experience and knowledge of the sector, I was selected for this role.

INVEST IN TRAINING
Throughout my professional career I received ongoing training and support to successfully carry out my tasks. I have attended numerous courses including safety and risk prevention, as well as technical and managerial programs.

THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING A TEAM

When coordinating a dozen people, it is essential to create the right team spirit. This is why I often organize internal meetings with the aim of discussing any problems encountered and to make every technician feel part of the group.”

Opus, as told by … Simone

I came to opus automazione just after obtaining my Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2009. Shortly after joining, I was asked by the company to carry out field testing for an important client of theirs in the Oil and Gas Sector. I immediately accepted this very challenging assignment which enabled me to travel around the world for many years. My role was to carry out high-level diagnostics on turbo-generator and turbo-charger systems that were often located in truly unimaginable places.

In 2009 Opus was recognized in Florence as being one of only two organisations which were exclusively involved in Field Testing.

NEW OPERATIONAL HEADQUARTERS
In 2012, Opus opened a new operating headquarters in Florence following the acquisition of new contracts and an increase in the number of employees. In 2017, due to personal reasons, I asked the company for a new role that would allow me to work mainly at the Florence office and reduce the need for me to travel abroad.
Given my experience and knowledge of the sector, the company offered me the position of team manager of a group of 10 people. My job would deal with remote diagnostics on Oil and Gas plants. I accepted their offer with great enthusiasm.

SUPPORTING AND DEVELOPING THE TEAM
